Character Creation Guidlines

This page is written from a real world perspective

What’s allowed

All races, classes, and backgrounds from the Player’s Handbook.

Class options from other fifth edition sources made by Wizards of the Coast (for example, the Death Cleric Domain from the Dungeon Master’s Guide and the Artificer Wizard Tradition from the Unearthed Arcana article on the Eberron campaign setting) with DM approval.

Spells and equipment from WotC 5e sources, including the core rulebooks and the Elemental Evil Player’s Player’s Companion.

What’s not allowed

Races, classes and backgrounds from sources other than the PHB, including 5e material released by WotC; you cannot, for example, have a Genesai character, even though they’re listed as an option in the EEPC.

Any material from any source specific to a published campaign setting; for example, your character can not be a worshiper of Tempus as he is a deity of the Forgotten Realms campaign.

Stuff from previous editions that has not been released for 5e; no Pixie, Centaur, or Mind Flayer PCs.

Homebrew stuff from other wiki’s or online-published campaigns.
